Limited Edition

Means multiples produced from a single master, all of which the same image and usually bear numbers or markings to note the limited production number of prints. All images in this limited edition are hand-signed by the artist and numbered, signifying the artist’s approval of all aspects of the creation and quality of the image. The artist signature signifies this approval. The image on the master also exists as an original painting or sculpture. At this time, there are no other proofs or editions of this image. To the best of our knowledge, the printer and/or the casting foundry have destroyed the master plates and castings molds.

Artist’s Proof

Artist’s Proof are gathered in many instances in the earliest stages of the prints. The label “AP” is used to select separate categories within the edition. “AP” is a print made for the artist’s personal use, and not part of the edition of that print. These prints are collectable and represent the closest reproduction to the original artwork.

Giclee Print

A giclee is an images generated from high resolution digital scans and printed with archival quality inks onto various substrates including canvas, fine art, and photo-base paper. The giclee printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction.

The quality of the giclee print rivals traditional printing processes and is commonly found in museums, art galleries, and photographic galleries.

Offset Lithography

We do not sell original lithographs. Motorgraphics only sells offset lithographs. Offset lithography is a modern version of lithography using the highest quality printing process available. The artist numbers them and a certificate of authenticity will go with the piece of art or will be forwarded at a later date.

Canvas Transfers

Transferring lithograph or digital prints to canvas. The look of a canvas transfer can turn a print into a work of art.

Museum Proof

When selecting separate categories for Limited Edition prints, such as Artist Proof. A category is sometimes selected as Museum Proof, if a museum is, in someway, involved with the art.

Mixed Media

A combination of various graphic techniques applied to one print.
