CLASSIC ROCK BAND COLLECTION
The Doors were an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1965. They were among the most controversial rock acts of the 1960s, due mostly to Morrison’s wild, poetic lyrics and charismatic but unpredictable stage persona. With over 71 millions album sold, you can still hear their songs being played on the radio, over an over. “Riders on the Storm” is one of my all time favorite songs. Being a “rider” myself, this was a painting that I had always wanted to create.
This song can be seen as an autobiographical account of Morrison’s life: he considered himself a “Rider on the Storm” and also the last song Morrison recorded before he died.
