What can I say about these guys? The Beatles were an iconic rock group from Liverpool, England. They are frequently cited as the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed band in modern history. With their innovative music and style, their cultural impact would help define the 1960s and become an enormous influence on music that is still felt today.
To date, The Beatles have sold over 1 billion records worldwide. My thoughts for this painting was if I was seeing the The Beates perform on the Ed Sullivan show (1964), in front of a live TV audience of over 70 million viewers, was the driving force behind my decision to paint this now legendary rock band. The glowing yellow and amber lights with the blue stage backdrop, gives this painting its historic and retro feeling, bringing back memories for the true fan or collector.
